Hi, when it comes to preparing snacks for the children parents face a hard time thinking about what to make and whether the child will eat it or not. All the moms seem to get confused as in what to make which is tasty as well as tasty. I have also been through this situation and to find a solution I looked out for recipes on the internet which the children could eat happily. There are several recipes which you can make at home for your children. The only thing a mom requires is time and proper dedication to prepare tasty lunch or snack for the kids.

Hello, the body of a growing child also requires essential fatty acids and calcium and iron in a good amount. If there is no proper intake of the fatty acids it can cause deficiency of the unsaturated fatty acids causing poor performance in school. Further cases children can also get dyslexic and dyspraxic. Calcium is extremely important for the development of bones and teeth and should be consumed daily through milk and other dairy products. Otherwise it can cause osteoporosis in the children. Even iron is an essential component required by the body for increasing the blood flow and can be received from meat and fish.

Make sure to make something which is appealing to the eyes and looks and smells delicious so that your child wants to eat it. Children are always fussy eaters and only eat things which are appealing to their taste-buds. You can make a salad basket, wherein you can bake a whole wheat basket or it is readily available in any grocery store or malls. You can cut up all the favourite fruits which your child likes into cubes and then season them with herbs or any other seasoning or you can simply add chat masala or salt in it to make it sweet and spicy. Serve it by adding all the fruits into the basket and your child will love eating it.

Taking children to the museum, exhibitions, libraries and many other interesting places can help the child learn a lot of different things and visualising it and hearing it can make those things last forever in their memory. You can also take your children for movies which are informative and good for the children to watch. Children can grow faster if there is some praising and appreciating for them from the parents. This can help them to be encouraged and study a bit more and might want to learn more. If there is no praising at all then the child might lose interest and can also go into a depression or anxiety.

Does your child misbehave? What are the common causes of misbehaviour in children? What do you do when your child misbehaves in public?
To read the related article, click here. Read More...
Hello, there are some children who lack confidence in them and are scared of being a failure. This might be one of the reasons why the child start misbehaving to hide their failure of low confidence. They just do it to prove that they are superior and are not scared of anything but in reality it is the opposite. In this case parents should support their child and increase his level of confidence by supporting and motivating him. Encouraging him to face the challenges and also helping him get through it will be very helpful for the child.

Remember children always look up to their parents and other family members as their role model and try to follow them. So unless and until you don’t start eating healthy do not expect your child to start eating all of a sudden when you serve him. Make a point that everybody in the family eats healthy. Try to eat meals, snacks together as a family so that your child can also learn eating habits. Make sure that the TV is off and the kid is completely concentrating on his or her food. I hope this tips will help you and your child.

Many parents still believe in the myth that their children should naturally just get along, being loving, affectionate, and supportive of each other. However this is seldom a reality. Hey, coping up with children is difficult and managing them is next to impossible. It is important that you children as a team and they also feel as a team. Make them realise that team work always works and let them solve their problems on their own. Remember do not punish them if they are not listening and try to be stubborn. Never take sides as they might feel neglected. Avoid yelling and threatening the kids as children who are punished are more prone to get angry and more likely to fight with each other. Try to use positive disciplines and positive thoughts which may help children to strengthen their bond.

Creating awareness in them about healthy food and what they eat gives them what will help them understand how necessary it is to eat healthy food. Always try to make dishes tastier and the way your child likes it, try to add a healthy twist to his or her favourite dishes so that they enjoy the dishes and also intake the healthy things. My son has been the shortest boy in his class since he was a kid. Though his height has increased but still he is the shortest boy. He is now in class 5. Does this mean that he has some growth problems> Do I need to check with a doctor? Read More...
I agree with you completely, it is very necessary to have at least two glasses of milk daily. Adding more dairy products to your consumption can help in increase the height. Eating paneer, cheese, yoghurt and many other things can be beneficial. There are also genetic factors which affect the growth of the height. Genes from both sides of the family are considered and if someone is short then the child can be short. It is not necessarily the parent’s height which should be taken under consideration. Drinking plenty of fresh water throughout the day can also help in increase of the height by flushing out all the toxins and having a proper metabolism.

All the parents find it quite energy draining and irritating when their children fight. Even though this is quite common and can be seen in every single house who has two kids or more. There are some houses where the siblings are so good with each other and do not fight and we wish that our kids should be like them. In this case at least one sibling compromises for other or both are mature enough to be sharing their things and thoughts.

Peer pressure in school makes your child to go along with a group or classmates, compromising his beliefs, self-worth, etc.. As a result, it leads to rejection. This is a bad sign. Peer pressure is faced by everybody throughout their lives, be it children, teenagers or adults. As parents we can encourage them to speak their thoughts. It is of no use being a mere puppet and having no thoughts of our own. Peer influence takes place in every age and the main reason behind this influence is to be accepted by a group and also be valued by friends. Some do as their peers do because they like it and some do it under pressure. It is not always negative and something done against the will. Usually peer pressure is more in teenagers than children.

Hello, you should motivate your child by the joy of learning so that your child does the best. Discipline is important but inspire your children with some goals so that they feel motivated to achieve them. Tell them where studies can lead them so that they don’t feel pointless and abstract. Tell them the importance of studying and grades, how it will benefit them in the future and how far they can go if they study properly. Also let them know how proud you will be of them when they study properly and succeed in life.

The UNESCO Institute of Statistics estimates that a little over 2,00,000 Indian students travel abroad for higher education. Unsurprisingly, the top five destinations for Indian students, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, have some of the best and most popular universities in the world. Given modern Visa restrictions it is a telling sign of the high esteem that Indian students are held in by foreign universities. Despite the fact that the door to foreign universities is open to Indian students there are some development goals essential to ensure both admission and success abroad.

    1. Language Skills and Writing: When making a comparison between National boards and International boards in India, it is very obvious that there is a higher emphasis given to essay writing and language skills in International schools. This is done with good reason as foreign universities grade a large part of a student's academic career based on curriculum related essays that involve both in depth research and good quality academic writing.

    2. Research Skills: Foreign universities take plagiarism and originality very seriously. Very often a student may inadvertently use an idea or a quote without proper citation and fall foul of the rules of research and citation. International schools not only teach proper research and citation but also teach students effective ways of researching to ensure that any previously published idea has been given due credit. In addition there is a strong system in place to ensure that all instances of plagiarism are found out to ensure that students are always vigilant when writing essays and other assignments. RIMS International School ensures that its students are not only well trained in how to research, but are meticulous in citation and chasing a reference to determine the actual origin of quotations and ideas used in their essays and other coursework.

    3. Finding the Right Course: Very often students arrive at foreign universities only to discover that they have signed up for a course for which they are not well suited. This unfortunate situation can be blamed on a variety of reasons like bad advice, peer pressure to do a popular paper, not enough research about the course etc. However, the most important reason is usually that the student did not have sufficient opportunity to learn about options and guidance when choosing courses. RIMS teachers are experienced in helping their students explore the various options available to them for further study. In addition, RIMS’s low student-to-teacher ratio ensures that teachers can dedicate significant time to help students through one-on-one guidance.

    4. Thinking Out-of-the-box: One of the biggest criticisms of University education in this country is that there is little deviation from the prescribed syllabus and students rarely get to explore the boundaries of the subjects that they are studying. While Indian students have the desire, drive and intelligence to study abroad, it is important that they develop the ability to look into new areas of research for coursework as this is what gets them better grades as well as sets them on the path to recognition. RIMS International always encourages its students to think differently about problems, to research widely and to formulate ideas and theories that set students apart from the ones in other International Schools.

    5. Learning to be Independent: For students going overseas, this will be their first experience of not only living alone but of fending for themselves. Even children who have been to boarding school get used to the regimented lifestyle and find it difficult to adjust to the self-discipline and decision making of living abroad on their own. While students learn the most about being independent from their parents, schools can play a major role as well. At RIMS, we ensure that our students receive guidance but also learn to take decisions and responsibilities inside of the classroom, in their coursework and in non-academic subjects and projects.

Overseas education not only gives students an edge in their chosen careers, it teaches them to become different people, makes students independent and ensures that they are aware of their world. It is essential that any student choosing to study abroad covers all the basic knowledge and skill requirements so that they can concentrate on the higher aspects of their course and experience abroad. The five points above are essential to any student studying overseas and it is important that students have these inculcated through their formative years so that they are already experienced when they reach their University of choice. Hi, if your child is confident and determined then you should definitely support him or her to study in abroad. But it is not always easy as it looks. Your child will have to deal with the language, food, accommodation and may more other things. Adjusting to their language and culture can be difficult at times. And settling down might take a bit of time. He or she may also find studying and the course quite different and difficult from how we are taught. Living there alone without your loved ones is also a great thing and adjusting might take time.

What are the causes of aggressive behaviour in kids? How to deal with aggressive behaviour in kids? Is it possible to discipline aggressive kids?
To read the related article, click here. Read More...
Hi, I had read somewhere that many kids who are aggressive show their aggressive nature starting from their preschool age. They start hitting their classmates, taking their toys, screaming, pulling and many other things. There might be several reasons for this kind of behaviour as they are scared or have fear of something. Mostly they seem to remove their frustration by behaving like this and they think by doing this they can be superior or try to repeat thing which he or she has seen earlier. It is important that you be supportive and understand the reason behind it.
