How to make a 20-month-old toddler more social? How to improve the vocabulary of a 20-month-old toddler? Which toys are best for the growth and development of a 20-month-old toddler? Read More...
Helping toddler mix with other people will make him or her more social. Taking them out in the evening to parks or other such places where she will be able to meet people will help her get rid of fear of people. This will also gradually help her reduce separation anxiety. Taking her to malls or for shopping will help her in getting acquainted with people.

Parents should have a loving and caring attitude towards kids. If the parents have differences, they should avoid showing it to the kids as it can affect them mentally and emotionally. A nurturing relationship with love between the couples is what boosts the confidence and self esteem of the kids. Parents should keep in mind to practice what they preach or what they want to see ion their kids. This will ensure healthy development of kids.

Toddlers are curious by nature and they love to explore things. When they see a new thing, they get attracted and may even forget their hunger or sleep. This curiosity makes them hyperactive. They are always on the lookout for new things.

You must encourage her to be strong and handle the bullies. If she cowers down, then she will never be able to overcome bullies. The bullies will take advantage of her and continue bullying. You need to teach her how to stand up against the bullies. As you have complained to the teacher but no help from her side, so its time now to take the rein in your hands. Teach her to stand up and fight the bullies. Be her support. Boost her confidence and self esteem and soon she will be able to get rid of bullies.

What are the common mistakes which parents make while talking to kids? What should parents keep in mind while talking to kids? Why is it necessary to avoid arguments while talking to kids?
To read the related article, click here. Read More...
Parents who are dominating or have authoritative style of parenting often have communication problems with their kids. such parents do not give the kid the freedom to speak or express and so the kid becomes withdrawn or has low self esteem. When talking to kids, parents should not go on and on but speak only few sentences so that the child can grasp and learn from it. Speaking too much makes the kids to tune out with the parents.
Most common mistake that parents make is nagging. Repeatedly saying same thing again and again causes kids to distance themselves. They don't seem to heed to what parents say so instead give short and clear directions.

My friend's son is in Akshara International School and he is very happy with the school. According to him, the teachers are very good and take pains to help each kid to understand the basics well.
In which area are you looking out for the school? If you mention your area of preference then it would be easier to find a school.

How to inculcate a sense of responsibility in a child? How does being responsible help children? Which practices can help children to be responsible?
To read the related article, click here. Read More...
Sense of responsibility should be inculcated from a young age. Only when taught from a young age, a child grows up to be a responsible adult. I have seen many parents pampering their children and seldom giving them responsibility. Even if I advise them, they take it in a negative way so I have stopped advising. Small chores such as keeping toys in place or folding clothes help in instilling the feeling of responsibility in the child and he also feels happy when doing these as he feels as if he is also sharing the responsibility with his parents. Such children grow up to be a well balanced individual who can take their own decisions.

This is bit of a self promotion but hopefully relevant here. I wanted to share my new book here: r2i dreams which explores the dilemmas and dreams of Indian immigrants living in the US. From the blurb: "This book explores the journey of three Indian immigrants as they make the journey to America, build memories along the way and wrestle with the eternal question facing those away from home -- are we here to stay or is there a road that leads back to where we came from?"

Thanks for reading :) Read More...
I have read this book. This is pretty interesting book that shows us the reality. How we Indians migrate to a new place and adjust there. What happens next and the thought process after settling in a new place is the highlight of the book. I could connect with this book as my friends have left India and settled in US. Now whenever they come here or we talk, all they think is what next. Should they live there forever or come back to their homeland. a very good book.

How to enhance brain development of kids? What are the ways to improve memory of kids? Which foods can aid in brain development?
To read the related article, click here. Read More...
Brain development can be enhanced most by having conversation with children. The more we talk to them, the more their brain will be developed. Giving them activities that stimulate brain also helps a lot . Music and dance is also brain stimulating. If parents start talking to the baby early such as naming things around him or her is very beneficial. Reading story books helps in learning new things and also in mastering new words. It is good to provide the little one with new books.

my husband is more interested in expanding his stupid business than he is in me. He s always busy with work and has two phones stuck to his ears and an ipad stuck to his eyes all the time. I am a very sad and lonely housewife. He is selfish. he doesnt care about me. He takes me on trips only so that he can show the world how successful he is that he can afford to take his wife on trips abroad every year. he never discusses his life with me. he s very attentive of me in front of others but ignores me otherwise.

I feel like i am trapped in a loveless marriage. how can i keep myself busy and not care that my husband is busy in his world. Read More...
    Hi,
My life has also become so boring. Few months after my marriage, my husband lost interest in me and is more interested in his work. I guess this is the life of wives. I have joined some hobby classes to keep myself busy. I have joined dance classes and it feels very good to do something rather than worrying about your not so interested husband. Now I lead my life and don't care whether he is busy with his work or not. I have my group of friends with whom I hang out and have fun.
