Teaching children to put their 100 % in studies is necessary and before that they should understand the reason behind that. Tell them the importance of learning today and make them understand if they work hard today they will have a better tomorrow. Making understand the importance of good marks can help them to be motivated and study harder. You can also give him examples the way they will understand like saying that if he gets good marks now he will be able to be what he wants to be and get admission in good college.

Help children learn skills and strategies so that he or she can perform better in the exams. If your child is too nervous for the exam just talk to him and assure him that no matter what you are there with him and you believe in him and his preparation that he will do well and there is no need to be nervous and scared. Make him feel secure and let him know he has your support. Remember children need extra support and nurturing during the exam time and you as parents can make that happen.

Why is parental involvement necessary for the academic success of children? What can create hurdle for academic success of children? What should parents do to boost academic success of a child?
To read the related article, click here. Read More...
Hello, I completely agree with the above point it is necessary that the children maintain their academic marks and not go down and down in their performance. All the parents want their children to keep succeeding and performing better and better every time, but there at times when children think that they can do it easily at the last moment also. It is not really as simple as they think and it requires practise regularly and patience. Following a routine can help the child to be consistent in his academics. Make a good time table for studying and doing homework so that the child can follow it.

my daughter back answers and if i tell her not to do it, she says that if I do not answer then also you will scold. I tried explaining her the idfference between back answering and answering but she is in no mood to listen. How can i discipline her? Read More...
Parents expect several things from the children but forget the way they behave. Do not expect the kind of behaviour you expect from the children if you yourself do not follow it. It is important that you be the role model of your child and follow what you mean and have said, so that the children follow you and learn the good habits. Imitating is a common habit in children be it parents or teachers they will imitate. The way you talk, handle situations or any other habit they might start following so it is important that you yourself first follow the rules which you are setting for your child.

Why is it necessary to encourage kids to do activities that aid brain development? What are the ways to boost memory of kids? Can playing games help to boost memory of children?
To read the related article, click here Read More...
I agree name, place, animal, thing is a lovely game where children can create four columns and one person chooses a random alphabet and everybody has to write down a name, place, animal and thing starting from that alphabet. This game clearly based on the power of memory is extremely beneficial. The child can learn new places, names, animals and things and this game will also make him think deeper to improve his memory and thinking skills. This will also help in developing their vocabulary and they can also learn different spellings. Overall I highly recommend this game to every parent for their children.

How does BMI help in determining child’s health? How can BMI of children be calculated at home? Does a high BMI in kids mean a health problem? Read More...
There are some parents who feel that if their child has a high BMI their paediatrician would have told them earlier, but it is not necessarily like that. Sometimes a paediatrician is more focused on the other things rather than the weight issues of the child. As children have fluctuating weights all the time it keeps changing time to time, still if you feel concerned you can go ahead and ask him about it. Today all the schools have made it strict to check the BMI of all their students. This is a really good thing which the schools have started as they give the direct report of the BMI to the respective parents.

You can consult a doctor and ask for the necessary treatment require to prevent lice from the head. There are special lice combs available in all drug stores which might help getting rid of the lice. I can understand that when children misbehave it hurts a lot but we have to deal with it and find a solution to it. Children tend to throw tantrums at small things and it is necessary to keep calm and if we lose it the situation will be worse. Controlling kids with tantrums is quite a challenging task. You can ask the kid calmly why he is troubled and what is making him so irritated and agitated.

What should be done when kids stop listening to their parents? Is it correct to punish the child if he or she does not listen to his or her parents? What are effective ways to get kids to listen to parents? Read More...
Hello, it is not always that your child is intentionally not listening to you, there can be many genuine reason why there are not listening. Sometimes children feel that no one can control them other than themselves and due to that reason they start avoiding what their parents are trying to say. They try to focus more on the outside world and are more interested what is going on outside. They start thinking that they have grown up so much now that they do not require to listen to their parents. Not listening to their parents is the one way they show that they are independent now.

The last ten years has seen tremendous growth in the numbers of international schools in India and in particular, internationals schools in Mumbai. At a casual glance, we can ascertain that the reason behind this was the dissatisfaction with the state and national board schools, many from parents own personal experience of school. While international schools have become a popular choice for parents today, there are still many who are unsure of what are the exact benefits of having your child in one of them.
To truly understand these schools we should look at the many positive things that they bring to the academic environment rather than make a comparison with the state and national schools (though some unavoidable comparisons will appear). The reason behind this is that many international systems have been in existence for a number of years or are following on from older traditions in modern forms. It is important to understand that none of these systems are reactionary systems and have been developed to provide quality education.

    1. Universally accepted certification: International schools offer universally accepted certification that ensures that your child does not miss out on any opportunities to study further. The certification boards are prestigious and maintain a high quality level and students that receive these certifications are held in high esteem by universities around the world.

    2. A global syllabus for a global world: Thanks to information technology and liberalised economies the world has gotten more familiar with itself than at any time before. This creates a compulsion to make sure that knowledge of the world goes beyond just a hobby. International school syllabuses are tailor made so that students understand the differences and similarities of the world and are able to understand people from everywhere beyond the realm of language.

    3. Multi-disciplinary syllabus: International schools offer a multi-disciplinary syllabus so students are under pressure to choose their specialised career paths at a young age. It also helps develop students that are proficient in a variety of knowledge bases that are beneficial in an environment where multi-speciality individuals are sought after in the working world.

    4. Low student-to-teacher ratio: International school classrooms are much smaller than classrooms in standard Indian schools. This allows teachers to have more personal time with each student so that they get the most out of their learning years.

    5. All-round education: Besides academics, international schools ensure that students also learn from a variety of non-academic subjects and programmes such as sports, dramatics, music and social service. All of these non-academic activities are important for the development of young, well adjusted and healthy minds. Read More...
The various things taught in international schools are not taught in the normal SSC schools. The way to study and deal with different matters, having a different perspective of things is what is taught in these schools. They also prepare the children for future and different kind of exam which are given out of the school. These school teach various things like proper time management, skill management, analysing a critical situation and also helps child learn independent thinking. Children here can also participate in some international competitions. You can say that these school children are a bit smarter than the national board students.

What are the causes of frequent urination during pregnancy? How to deal with frequent urination and urine leakage during pregnancy? Which exercises help to prevent urine leakage during pregnancy?
To read the related article, click here. Read More...
Hi I would like to suggest all the pregnant women to reduce the intake of beverages like tea, coffee and alcohol as these have a mild diuretic effect. It is necessary to not drink alcohol during pregnancy, but if cut off all these drinks it is less likely that you would have to visit the bathroom less than normal. While peeing you can lean a bit forward this might help to empty the bladder completely helping you to visit less. Do not dehydrate yourself as water and other fluids are quite important for the body and baby.
