How to identify the hidden talent in children? How to motivate a gifted child? What are the common characteristics of gifted children?

There are children who learn words and sentences so quickly, that you might think this vocabulary is not even fit for his age. Children tend to grasp and learn new things easily and quickly then rest of the students. Such children take a lot of interest in all the activities and different topics. Whenever you ask them something from the past or they had learnt earlier they quickly answer and even recall those things easily. This shows that they have a good memory. They listen and pay attention to each and every detail told to them carefully and sometimes if we miss some point they will immediately tell us that point.

Hi, we parents can utilize several opportunities in our day to day life in teaching our children. The activities which we do every day can also help the child to learn several different things every day. Visiting the grocery store simply can provide valuable learning opportunities as well and also kids can learn counting, alphabets, compare prices, learn how to add number and also differentiate between two labels and products. Teach kids new names everyday so that they remember it also teach them the meaning of the words, but make sure that the words are simple and used in their day to day life.

My school goer is very aggressive what to do? Read More...
Hi, the most common thing seen in school going children is their aggression. Children become too stubborn and aggressive at a certain point when they want something or just out of habit. There can be several reasons for such behaviour. It is our duty as parents to understand our children and their behaviour so that we can let them know what behaviour is expected from them. When child shows aggression and anger especially in public place it might make your lose your patience. Remember that you do not lose your calm so that the child does not throw more tantrums and embarrass you more.

Why are some children unable to concentrate on studies? How to help children develop better concentration while studying? How to prevent concentration problems in children?
To read the related article, click here. Read More...
I agree with the above point and also feel that it is really necessary that we spend time with our children. Parents always seem to be busy in their work and do not get time to spend with their child and also don’t know what is happening in their child’s life. It is necessary that you give time to your children, help them study and when they are stuck also help them by clearing their doubts. Children can concentrate more when they are guided and motivated. Spend the time with your children asking what they did in the entire day so that they could recollect the activities which they did in the entire day.

How to make sure that kids do not bring lunch box half-eaten? How to pack an appealing lunch box for kids? What are the thumb rules for packing lunch box of kids?
To read the related article, click here. Read More...
Hi, I absolutely agree with you that seeing the same thing every day in the lunch box becomes too boring for the children. There at times when their friends bring different tempting things every day in their lunch and they have to eat their regular thing every day. Make sure that you be innovative and give different things to the child every day. Try to learn recipes which are different from the regular things he eats, but also make sure that the nutritional level remains. You can change the ingredients and make something unique which your child will like.

Does your child lie? What are the common causes for the development of habit of lying children? How can parents control the habit of lying in children?
To read the related article, click here. Read More...
There have been various reasons for the kids to lie. The biggest reason being the fear of being punished. Children do mistakes and are scared that they might be punished once the truth is out so they lie to be saved from the punishment. The fear of being scolded or hit by parents or teachers make them lie. There are some children who lie for others. I have seen children lying to save their friends, the reason being peer pressure. Children feel that saying the truth is boring and try to make excuses which are imaginative.

There are several reasons for the children to lie to their parents. If something happens and you ask your child whether they know it you will always hear these same answers like I don’t know, which is not true at all and they absolutely know what is wrong. They will continue to ignore you and if you ask them if they did it they will straight way say no I didn’t do it. Now you probably know who did it and still if you ask them whether they did it, they will try to blame their sibling or someone else but not tell the truth.

Hi, you can help your child to get out of the stress which he has of studies or peers. Make sure you make a routine which is followed by your child so that he doesn’t have difficulties in studying and does not feel pressurised. If he or she follows the study habits regularly it is less likely to feel burdened when the work is completed before time. Guide your child whenever possible keep an eye on him and keep motivating him so that he feels confident and also try to boost his self-esteem. hi..i have 4 year old son and he is extremely brilliant and his IQ is very good and this has been observed by all his teachers, but he is very active and little naughty that while running he will not see that somebody got hurt from him and become angry and push someone, but he realize his mistake also, so his school has advised me to keep a shadow teacher, but im not able to understand does he really require that ?? please help Read More...
Having a shadow teacher for such a brilliant child just because he is mischievous and naughty is not acceptable. I think your child’s teacher itself does not know the meaning of a shadow teacher therefore she might be telling you to look for one. There are so many children who have such energy and are active throughout the day. His energy cannot be controlled by keeping a shadow teacher with him. I feel that you should invest his energy in some physical activities or sports which he likes. This might make him a little calm and quiet, but no shadow teacher please.

Which are the common contagious illnesses in kids? How to prevent contagious illnesses in kids? What are the ways to teach basic hygiene and healthy habits to kids? Read More...
Hi all, having good hygienic habits can help reduce the risks of having diseases. If you are going out in any public place like malls, you can carry a sanitizer along with you which you can use before you eat anything if there is no washroom nearby. Sanitizers also help in killing the germs though some people might not feel clean even after using it but it works definitely. Teach your children to share his food, drinks with his or her friends but always use different spoons and dishes so that there is no transfer of germs. Also teach your child to throw the garbage and trash in the dustbins and not litter the surrounding.

My 7 yr old insists on watching TV shows like Chhota Bheem on a daily basis as the friends in schools and classes hold a daily discussion on the topics. I need to stop this as it is upsetting to him mimic these fictional characters all day long. Read More...
My son also watches chota bheem and enacts like him. I have seen so many kids who watch TV and start enacting the same way. Mostly all of this happens because of peer pressure and it is natural of them to compare themselves with their peers and even wish that they would be like them. This is a normal condition and nothing to worry about, majority of the kids do so. The reason behind as this being that they want to fit in their peer group, be equal to them, do what they want to do and also want what others have.

My in-laws are always finding fault with me. For every small thing, from the way I dress to the my cooking - they keep criticizing me. they even complain about me to our neighbours and family people.

I do everything they say, I dress like they say, I cook with the exact same recipe that my mother-in-law used, but still they just love complaining about me.

Telling my husband is useless as he always takes his parents' side and tells me that i am over-reacting and that it must have been my fault. I am feeling very stressed and am holding my patience and silence but it is getting more and more difficult to listen to all this without snapping back. I dont want to create fights and tensions. Can someone suggest how can i make my unhappiness come across to my husband in a way that he will not blame me and talk to my in-laws to lay off me? Read More...
It is important that you confront each and every thing to you partner and explain it properly. You should be very honest with your partner and if you are genuine I am sure he will listen to you and try to take your side when he understands your side. He is always stuck between being the good son and a good husband but its high time he sees the reality if his family is wrong he should say it directly and take your side. Being a mumma’s boy every time won’t help. He should be strong enough to make decisions and not be blind in love of family.

my in-laws take care of my son. I am completely at ease when they are around. I do not have to worry about his food, homework or anything else. they take care of all his needs. Read More...
Hello, grandparents are one big reason for a healthy development of the child. Children can spend time with them reading books, listening stories, playing, singing, listening music and the attention which grandparents give to their grandkids helps in improving the learning and developmental skills of the child. It is always better to have a trusted caretaker for your children than an outsider and when your in laws take the responsibility of taking care of them then that is a wonderful thing. Having a trusted family member to take care of your kids is like a wish come true for many of them.
